Sarah grew up in Southern Indiana, in a town called Newburgh. After attending college at Purdue University she moved to Louisville, Kentucky to work at a new Marriott hotel. While she loved the warmer climate and small city feel of Louisville, she got an opportunity to move to Chicago and went ahead and took it. Despite the cold weather, Sarah has come to love the city and all it has to offer. In March of 2008 she met Brian when they both started working at a new Marriott hotel downtown. Fourteen months later they were engaged!
Brian grew up in a town in Northern New Jersey called Sussex. His parents had moved to the United States from Switzerland, and he was born in Fullerton, California about twelve days after they arrived here. Brian moved to Rhode Island to attend Johnson and Wales University. He was able to study abroad in Switzerland and visit there many times while growing up. After graduating Brian moved to Chicago, IL to work at a Marriott hotel near Midway airport. In March of 2008 he was promoted to Front Desk Manager at the new Marriott hotel downtown, where he met Sarah.
Brian and Sarah have enjoyed spending the last two years together, attending many sports events and travelling to new places. Sarah went to Switzerland with Brian in September of 2009 and got to meet all of the Witzigs that live there and help celebrate Brian’s Grandmother’s 80th birthday. Brian has taught Sarah to love hockey (something she never thought possible) and Sarah has shown Brian her love of the NBA as they have attended many Bulls and Pacers games.
In October of 2009 Brian and Sarah decided to take on two puppies that changed their lives: Addison and Jackson are their two Beagle puppies that are now 9 months old. Aside from chewing up four different pillow beds so far, Addison and Jackson love going to the dog beach, chewing on every stick they can find outside, and howling at neighborhood dogs, just to say hello.
